P3 Coconut Flour Cheesy Pizza Crust

Wow, this is my favorite HCG protocol friendly pizza crust recipe yet! This is a variation on the recipe from Tropical Traditions. I'm going to try it as written, too, but varied it to skip the flax seed grinding since I was in a rush.

Coconut Flour cheesy Pizza Crust (personal pizza size)

1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1 Egg
2 Tbsp Coconut Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/4-1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4-1/2 tsp Basil

Preheat oven to 350*. If you have a baking stone, put it in the oven to preheat as well and you can cut your baking time in half.

Mix cheese, egg, coconut flour and baking powder and spices until well combined. You'll have to use your hands so just go ahead and get them messy.

Press out on a piece of parchment paper to about 1/4 inch thick. Pick up parchment and stick it in the oven on the hot stone. If you don't use the stone method, put the parchment on a baking sheet and into the oven.

On the stone, 15 minutes should be enough to cook both sides of the crust. On a baking sheet, bake about 15 minutes, then flip the crust over to bake the other side for another 15 minutes or until it's golden brown.

Remove from oven, top with sauce, cheese and toppings (meats should be precooked) and return the pizza to the oven to melt the cheese and warm up the toppings.

Do you miss eating normal pizza crusts or do you prefer the coconut flour variety?

I can honestly say that I don't miss "regular" pizza anymore. I just started a new round and loaded, and had regular pizza during loading, and I was kind of wishing I'd just made the coconut flour pizza instead because I really like it better.

So glad to hear! :) I have recently been adding cilantro to every Mexican style dish I make, love it! Great idea :)

Do you have the nutrition info figured out for this?

The easiest way I found to count calories was to use "MyPlate" at livestrong.com: http://www.livestrong.com/myplate

That way you can be sure to put in the exact ingredients you use for an accurate calorie count.

Hope that helps! :)

OMG! I cant wait to try this when I get to my first P3 (Im doing 3 rounds this year)! This looks AH-mazing! Im salivating just thinking about the possibilities! I use to dread P3 because I always wanted to 'extend' P2 to maximize loss and make up for any 'diet errors' along the way but P3 is SO beneficial psychologically! Not to mention its there for a REASON to stabilize! LOL! I have been holding on to my coconut flour for awhile now... just waiting to pounce on it!

Lianne I do a Cilantro/Basil Vinaigrette that is P2 friendly (using MCT oil-which is one of my game changes and secret P2 weapons!). I usually use ACV for my vinegar. I also have a Smoked Paprika/Onion Vinaigrette as well as a sweet Strawberry/Mint Vinaigrette (I havent made in awhile but will soon!). Really dresses up a naked salad! Some double as a marinade! I LOVE cilantro!

Thanks for sharing this healthy recipe! I have heard a lot of positive reviews about HCG and I'm about to try it one of these days using my favorite australian cheese brands. Do you think I can make it?
