P2 Creamy Salsa Chicken (rogue)

Oh my goodness, this is one of those ideas that will become a staple in my menu. I already confessed to using my ranch dressing while on P2 without any issue, so this time I mixed it in with my Salsa Chicken for an amazing creamy meal. It's labeled "rogue" because of the ranch.

Creamy Salsa Chicken (rogue)

3.5 oz Chicken Breast (I use 2 tenders)
1/2 cup to 1 cup Salsa
2 Tbsp Ranch Dressing

Preheat oven to 350*. Place chicken in baking dish, cover with salsa. Cover dish with foil and bake until chicken is done, about 20-25 minutes. Cut up chicken and mix in ranch dressing. Serve.

So it's ok to have ranch dressing while on P2??

No it's not ok......that's why she labeled it rogue. She just said she didn't have any issues with using it. But someone else might. Depends on your body.

Thanks, sorry I missed this question! That's correct, it's not protocol so if you decide to try it, be cautious and notice how your body reacts. :)

Walden farms has a ranch dressing and you can use it on protocol

Salsa also has sugar and many many other ingredients off the diet. It also mixes vegetables which is off the diet... this is so far off for a P2 recipe I wouldn’t even have mentioned it.. it's not even approved for p3. Sorry

This recipe is labeled "rogue" :) If you don't want to try a rogue recipe, you certainly don't have to. However, that doesn't mean it's not ok for anyone. Many of us have had no issues at all with mixing veggies or using ingredients that aren't 100% on protocol. And actually, there are plenty of published HCG protocols that veer from the original text. Everyone should do what they feel most comfortable with, and be cautious trying something new. And actually my salsa doesn't have any sugar in it, and all of the ingredients are fine on protocol, but yes of course they are mixed. I'm ok with it. :)

A GREAT substitute for actual ranch dressing is "Walden Farm's Ranch dressing" it is OK on the HCG diet actually all of their dressing are because they are sugar free, gluten free, calorie free fat free and carb free. They actually taste pretty good and can be bought at health food stores or online. I love their honey mustard.

Hi! What kind of salsa do you use? Or do you make your own?

Hi! :) I go back and forth between a fresh and a jarred salsa, from our local store. Just check ingredients - as long as all of the ingredients are compliant, then it's fine. No added sugar is the main thing to watch for!

Your recipes have saved me this round of HCG P2. I've done this diet in the past, very strictly might I add (I was totally miserable with the food). This time I have mixed veggies and made your ranch dressing (delish!!), and I've lost more weight this time so far than in other rounds. So happy to have found your blog!
