Ranch Dressing
This falls into a "YMMV" category - your mileage may vary. I have been successfully using this dressing on my salad during P2 and continued to lose weight. I use 1 Tbsp instead of the Tbsp of milk for the day. It covers a lot of salad nicely and is so delicious I look forward to it almost every day.
Ranch Dressing
1 cup mayo (regular mayo, I used Kraft brand - I tried healthier store-bought versions and they were never good.)
1 tsp ranch seasoning (some have msg, so watch for that)
1/4 - 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 - 1/2 tsp paprika
black pepper to taste
1/2 - 3/4 cup buttermilk, to desired consistency
Mix all ingredients well.

This sounds really good (and easy). I need to test this out - maybe it will help jazz up P2 a bit. LOL
Uncle Dan's Ranch seasoning packets have no added MSG and taste delicious!
Thank you for the recommendation! I'll look for it.
This is a wonderful addition to my otherwise boring P2!! I will use this dressing all the time, even beyond P2, it's delicious!
I didn't know you could have mayo on P2!? Cool!
I wouldn't recommend using mayo in general, but this recipe as the milk allowance worked fine for me. It's always a good idea to test any "rogue" idea carefully.
have yall tried buying the walden farms ranch dressing??? its pretty good (im sutr not as good as this one bc this one looks delish) but that one (or their products) are fat free, no carbs, no sugars and no preservatives..so works out!
Just FYI, the Walden Farms ranch dressing has sucralose (Splenda) - not healthy! and sodium benzoate, a preservative. I'd go with the home made one for sure!
Watch for maltodextrin or dextrose in the ranch seasoning packets... these ingredients are corn by-products and get converted into sugar by your body during the digestive process. In addition, watch for sugar in the mayo... While Sucralose (bleach processed sugar) is not the healthiest option, it's the better glycemic option. It's a matter of picking the lesser of the evils... If weight is your concern, go with the sucralose...
I didn't know you could have mayo or buttermilk???
Please see the note above the recipe, and previous comments - it's rogue, works fine for many people but you should always be careful trying something off protocol. :)
What will the MSG do? why the warning for it, weight loss related ? Also, did this not affect your loss at all, or somewhat but not completely ? Thank you for all your recipes ! They are making this month a LOT more bearable !
I don't know that it will do anything specifically as far as weight gain, but it's a neurotoxin and a lot of people are sensitive to it so I just wanted to mention that it might be something to look for.
So glad my blog is helping you out! :)
Hi, i was wondering....maybe making my own mayo with macadamia nut oil. I've made my own mayo on p3 and mac oil is better than soybean oil used in most jarred mayo. It also has a rich flavor. I'm struggling with the start of the p2...and I've been thinking about trying mac oil instead of the coconut oil or mct oil on p2. It heats without breaking down. Ymmv, but I've found I don't lose well if I don't use mct or coconut oil on p2
Loved this recipe! I weighed it after all mixed together and mine came to 14oz. I then plugged all the ingredients into Calorie Count Recipe Builder. This yields 28 - 1 Tbsp servings. Thanks for this awesome "Rogue" idea! I'm R1P2 with great losses, but I really needed something for salads and this hit the spot! Will monitor closely for stalls.
Organic mayo...problems solved
This is really good dressing!!!
This dressing just save my life!!!!
I NEVER write reviews, but this dressing is amazing! I made and tried tonight for the first time. I'm crossing my fingers that I do not stall or gain because I would love to eat this everyday or every other day.
